    Managing Quantity Surveyor

    My role as Managing Quantity Surveyor of Sun Engineering and Contracting contains many facets, with my mains duties being the following:

    • Daily management of all Project Quantity Surveyors, based on sites in Dubai, Sharjah and RAK.
    • Responsible for the timely application of Monthly Payment Applications and subsequent timely Certification.
    • Identification, Compilation, Submittal and Negotiation of any Variations.
    • In conjunction with the Commercial Manager, I am involved in the preparation of Extension of Time Claims and Prolongation Costs, all of which are incorporated into the Monthly Payment Applications to assist with the Project Cash Flow.
    • In depth knowledge of FIDIC “Conditions of Contract for Construction 1999” and “Conditions of Contract for Civil Engineering Construction 1987”.
    • The management of Contractual Correspondence, ensuring our contractual entitlements are upheld and notifications such as delays and variations are submitted to the Engineer to reserve our rights for time and cost impacts where applicable. Responding to Client/Engineer Correspondence is also a key component of my role.
    • Subcontract Administrations such as Monthly Payment Certificates, Monthly Subcontractor Reconciliation Summary, Variations, Claims and responding to Contractual Correspondence.
    • Preparation and Circulation of Monthly Labour Productivity Reports for all Projects.
    • Consistently reviewing and further developing Commercial procedures to improve performance and reporting.
