    The Geospatial Perspective

    Geowizardry

I work in the GIS and data management side of conservation and the environment projects designing and develop data collection processes with emphasis on spatial data. Sometimes I set up and administer ArcGIS Online for organisations who have never used GIS before and sometimes I develop apps and dashboards or create data processing FME workspaces for GIS users. I investigate, build, maintain and can train. It\’s all about what works best for your organisation.

What does it mean to automate and streamline your workflow, so you can focus on the important stuff?

    – helping you set up your data collection process (Field apps, What questions to answer?, etc.)
    – managing and storing your data so it\’s useful for you and easy to use/access long-term
    – building web apps so you can edit the collected data back at the office
    – creating dashboards so your leadership team can plan for the next day, understand the team\’s progress and use this information later for reporting and tendering

I also do field work like trap, camera and tracking tunnel checks and have contracted into building assessment and emergency management projects.

This is a crowd-sourced, open source map of street art in Christchurch, New Zealand. It aims to capture the stories of street art from earthquakes through to rebuild, provide a platform for artists and bring awareness to their works and make street art accessible to everyone.

Some milestones for us have been setting up a blog where we interview local artists, getting our API shared on to Christchurch City Council\’s Smart Cities website and leading street art tours for local school groups.

In 2017, Lonely Planet produced their first Street Art specific guide book which featured Christchurch. Our website helped contribute to the write up.
