    In my current role I assist Bangladesh Maritime Administration to achieve sustainable, safe and secure shipping, cleaner oceans and enhanced maritime capability through effective regulation, coordination and oversight of maritime affairs.
    Key Achievements:
    •Upgrading exam & assessment process for ISO 1976 & MSO 1983 & audit criteria of maritime training
    institute.
    •Presenting different rules, discussing on current policies in front of various stakeholders.
    •Delivered workshops to inland vessel crews & operators on safety & pollution prevention matters.
    •Prepared various Maritime policy papers and reports for governmental, IMO meetings &
    proceedings on III code, MEPC, SSE, PPR, SDC, LC .
    •Assisting development of inland cargo vessels & passenger ferries registration under ISO 1976.
    •Acted as Ship register for Dhaka river port.

    •Completed houseboats, Crane boats & dumb barges projects & delivered them on time within budget.
    •Maintaining schedule for work progress of 8 nos of 3000 dwt classed Oil tankers and 26 nos of classed (1500-2500 dwt) bulk carriers that are under the process of construction.

    Being a part of leading international provider of classification my role was to lead a team to provide compliance and consultancy services to the marine and offshore industries, helping our clients design, construct and operate their assets to the highest levels of safety and performance.

    Key Achievements:
    • Complete setting up Lloyd’s Register operation in Bangladesh in 2010 which includes but not limited to set up of the new office, Managing legal approval, authorizations, recruitment personnel and developing sustainable business for Lloyd’s Register.
    •Obtaining LR recognized organization status from Bangladesh Flag administration.
    •Working with Bangladesh flag administration on implementation of newly adopted IMO legislation as adopted by Bangladesh Flag.
    •Acted successfully as a project manager to deliver 120 Pax SOLAS Class Passenger vessel ‘MATALIKI’ IMO 9724934 at Western Marine Shipyard, Chittagong and 67 nos of BIWTA vessels of Dredgers, Crane boats, Oil tankers, Tug boats.
    • Facilitated a number Lloyd’s Register and IMarEST joint technical seminars to update local shipping fraternity.

    •Completing damage survey, condition survey, warranty survey, on hire /off hire survey, bunker survey & technical investigations & prepare comprehensive survey reports for the principals.

    Key Achievements:
    •Carry out the full investigation on behalf of the owner’s underwriters for the failure of the vessel both auxiliary engines at Sea for vessel MV ATADURU (IMO 7814149) which disabled the vessel.
    •Worked as ISO 9001 consultants to assist Kumudini Shipyards Limited to obtain ISO 9001 certification.

    In my role I used to provide standard education and training program to future maritime leaders according to the requirements of STCW’78 as amended, as well as to the requirements of the national curriculum and to enhance the customer satisfaction to develop world class maritime leaders.

    Duties Performed:
    •Manage the resources of engineering department with proper safety & maintain compliance issues.
    •Organize the department personnel, teaching personnel and maintenance personnel.
    •Maintain the documentation for ISO 9001 quality management system.
    •Conduct training in engineering management, maintenance procedure, and operational procedure.
    •Conducting training for marine engineers (mechanical and electrical) and navigating officers engineering subjects for management and operational level IMO and COC courses.

    My role was to ensure safe and efficient engineering operation of the vessels with no injuries, loss of life, damage to property or the environment, to meet our manager\’s expectations, meeting our customers’ needs and to continuously improve our results in a sustainable manner.

    Key Achievements:
    •Solving starting malfunction in Main engine, failure of turbocharger water casing of a generator engine, and solving repeatedly failures of fuel injectors & scuffing of cylinder liners of a main engine.
    •Investigation on Main Engine Crankshaft flange fitted bolt failures.
    •Act as trainer for Chief engineers of the K Line fleet for operation, management & trouble shooting of MAN & B&W ME Engines (BHP 98000, electronically controlled Engines).

    • Keep the vessel updated with the latest IMO conventions (MARPOL, SOLAS, LOADLINE, STCW, etc.), Classification Society’s requirements, national & international standards (ISO, ASME, BSI, DIN).
    • Organize & prepare vessels for various surveys such as statutory/classification surveys. Maintain equipment and documentation for ISM (International Safety Management), ISPS, Internal audit and external audit requirement, and port state inspections.
    • Reporting on damages, breakdown, and maintenance & overhauling of all machinery to management.
    • Maintaining an inventory of spares including critical spares, ordering spares within budget.
    • Preparing and submitting future plant budget proposals to vessel owners/ managers.
