Geospatial Developers (Multiple) | Canberra / Hybrid / Offsite / Remote | Citizens | Contract

Job Description :

The department is seeking the services of two experienced Geospatial Developers to support the Department in creating, managing, and analysing spatial data, and building robust geospatial applications.

The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:

  •  Deploying solutions into the GIS environment, including deployments of ArcGIS server, Portal for ArcGIS, and Geospatial Server
  • Managing Spatial Database Environments – on premise and cloud (SQL Server, PostGresGIS).
  • Orchestrate Data ETL Workflows (FME, Python)
  • Adapting Spatial Viewer Technology (ArcGIS Enterprise); ï‚· Maintaining and designing systems and applications
  • Developing appropriate solutions and related technical specification documentation
  • Providing status updates to Delivery management
  • Liaising with architects, developers, service and data modelers, business analysts, and testers to efficiently deliver high quality work
  • Managing and analysing incidents/problems
  • Working within large or small multi-disciplinary teams
  • Supporting cross function IT projects that rely heavily on GIS technology of data
  • Working under Agile framework adhering to scrum theory, practice and guidelines and contributing to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices
  • Working with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Be a part of the 24×7 support team. Providing out of hours support, including a requirement to be on call, on a rostered basis. This entails:
  • Specified Personnel to be available, and in the ‘required state of readiness’ to perform extra duty outside of standard business hours
  • The ‘required state of readiness’ includes the requirement for Specified Personnel to
  • Respond within 30 minutes of notification of requirement to attend or as directed by team management. Maintain compliance with the Department’s Professional Standards and Integrity Framework, which includes but is not limited to, ensuring Services are not performed whilst impaired by any legal or Page 2 of 2 illegal drugs or alcohol.

Specified Personnel will be provided with a mobile telephone while on call.

Essential criteria

1. Demonstrable experience in GIS systems development in an Enterprise environment;

2. Experience and working knowledge of spatial metadata standards and detailed architecture models;

3. Demonstrated experience in deploying and administering ESRI’s Enterprise environment;

4. Demonstrated experience in the development of web based geospatial applications and systems using ESRI ArcGIS Dashboards, WebApp, Experience builder (Developer Edition), and Python / JavaScript API.

5. Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and managing multiuser geodatabases.

Desirable criteria

1. FME skills, Experience with C# / ASP.NET

2. Microsoft Azure DevOps and CI/CD skills

3. Experience in ArcGIS monitoring tool, performance, including demonstrated ability to suggest infrastructure changes, enhancements, and upgrades.

4. A sound understanding of security issues and processes around ICT systems in classified environments
