We are currently seeking a skilled Mining Surveyor to join our dynamic team at the Milton office. Reporting to the Principal Mining Surveyor, the successful candidate will support our mining projects with mine surveying and operational technology assistance.
This role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, but flexibility is required to cover Mining Surveyors on an 8:6 roster as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regular site travel to support project personnel, including short and long-term cover when needed.
- Conduct project surveying work in compliance with industry standards and legislative requirements.
- Monitor the application and effectiveness of implemented systems and provide improvement recommendations.
- Provide technical knowledge and support for Operational Mining Technologies (e.g., high-precision guidance).
- Develop, maintain, and improve a sound knowledge of mining surveying and related fields.
- Provide technical input into SHE investigation reports as required.
Capability Requirements:
- Formal Surveying Qualifications (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of project experience in open-cut mining.
- Demonstrated proficiency in surveying skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrated understanding of mining processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships.
- Demonstrated strong drive, energy, and work efficiency.
- Software experience with Agisoft Metashape, Maptek Vulcan, Maptek PointStudio, Deswik, ArcGIS Pro (highly desirable).
- Hardware experience with Trimble GNSS and Total Stations, DJI RTK/PPK Drones, and Maptek Scanners (highly desirable).
