Working an 8:6 roster, departing from Perth you’ll fly directly to Plutonic arriving within 90mins of departure. Once onsite you are accommodated in a well-established camp that boasts a substantial gym, squash courts, multipurpose court, pool, modern ensuite rooms, just to list some of the facilities.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Survey Team at our Plutonic Operations. Surveyors who are enthusiastic about joining the mining industry are encouraged to apply for this position.

The primary objective of this position will be to provide survey support to the Plutonic underground operations on a daily basis. The successful candidate will have the perfect environment and supervision in which to work in order to obtain a WA Grade 1 Mine Survey Authorisation certificate.

Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, the Underground Surveyor will primarily be responsible for maintaining survey standards and controls. Your working knowledge of processing, recording and reporting of survey results is essential.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the survey mark outs of drill and blast rings, mine heading development, exploration drilling and raise bore drilling.
  • Maintain/update daily reports and maintain the integrity of survey digital records.
  • Communicate with Technical and Operating Departments to ensure all production and development requirements are being met.
  • Accurate/timely provision of EOM physical surveys and reporting.
  • Survey control for all related mining activities.
  • Survey of end of month development and ore stockpiles, stope surveys, heading development and surface works when required.
  • Surface set outs and pickups using GPS and UAV.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Hold a formal qualification in Surveying (Degree or Diploma)
  • Have a minimum of 1-3 years industry experience in metalliferous underground operations.
  • Have demonstrated experience using both MS Office and Mining Software – (competency and exposure to Deswik preferred)
  • Have experience with DJI UAV’s and hold a RePL
  • Have a proactive and self-motivated attitude
